Mohun Bagan team has reached Guwahati today afternoon to play their last AFC Cup group match against South China FC, Hong Kong. They will be training at the main venue from 5 p.m.
The 18 players who have traveled to Guwahati are - GK: Arnab Das Sharma, Vinay Singh; DF: Luciano Sobrosa, Pritam Kotal, Abhishek Das, Sanjay Balmuchu, Raju Gaikwad, Shouvik Ghosh, Sarthak Golui; MF: Tirthankar Sarkar, Lenny Rodrigues, Katsumi Yusa (c), Souvik Chakraborty, Lalkamal Bhowmick, Kean Lewis, Pankaj Moula; FD: Jeje Lalpekhlua, Subash Singh.
Since this is an inconsequential match, Chief Coach Sanjoy Sen has given rest to as many as 7 first eleven players viz Sony Norde, Cornell Glen, Kinshuk Debnath, Pronay Halder, Bikramjit Singh, Dhanachandra Singh and Debjit Majumdar. Some of these players will reach Shillong directly on 12th of May to play the Fed Cup return-leg semi against Lajong. Prabir Das will not be available for his injury.
It's worth-mentioning that with 11 points from 5 games, Mohun Bagan has already qualified for the Round of 16, by becoming the table-topper of Group G. There the Mariners will take on Group E runners Tampines Rovers of Singapore.
Tomorrow's match will kick-off at 6:30 p.m and will be telecast live on Star Sports 2.
