So, the season 2015-16 is coming to close as Mohun Bagan locks horns with Tampines Rovers of Singapore in the last 16 tie. Mariners will surely want to sign off the season in style. Bolstered with the Fed Cup triumph 72 hours ago, Bagan will try to keep the tempo. But the team will miss the services of some crucial players in likes of Sony, Katsumi, Pronay and Pritam. Azhar will also not feature in the squad. Kean Lewis, Tirthankar Sarkar, Subash Singh and Sarthak Golui will be their subs. On the other hand, Rovers have strengthened their side than that lost to Bagan at YBK in the ACL Play-off by 3-1. However, the green-and-maroon brigade must look forward the score and register the berth for the AFC Quarter-finals for the first time in club history.

"Morning shows the day". This old proverb was too appropriate for the Mohun Bagan family yesterday. Debraj Dutta, an ardent Mariner ascended Mt. Everest yesterday morning and our football team did their job in the best possible way. It was badly needed for us. Now, we are again the Monarchs of Indian football. Coach Sanjoy Sen has succeeded again to break the jinx of '13' and clinch the 14th Federation Cup title after 8 long years. Here's a collage of some happy moments of the architects, who have turned our dream true again.

Mohun Bagan Lifts Hero India Federation Cup for 14th time- Champions

Sensational, Delightful, Outstanding are even normal words to describe the high margin clean sheet win on a big tournament final and that also in an away ground. But the Mariners have shown once again by dominating the whole tournament. The real hero and the winner of Hero India Federation cup 2016 is Mohun Bagan AC.

With a drowsy start in the kick off of the high voltage game and almost stuck with a goal less first half, shown immense hunger of win and glory for the prestigious tournament and finally grabbed with ease on a high margin of 5-0 win.

What a storm at Guwahati followed by a superb rain and there goes the magic of Sony Jeje and Katsumi to put the final nail in the coffin.
The goal scorer are Sony Norde, Jeje(2), Dhanachandra and Bikramjit. A almight team fought like a true champion and earned the respect with a superb win in the final game of the tournament.

Now the mariners hold this prestigious trophy for the 14 time which is the only club having the highest number of Federation cup in India and also setting a dramatic record of winning in a final of this tournament with a high margin of 5-0 which never happened before in the history of Federation cup.

#Mohun_Bagan_en_route_14th_Fed_title

78, 80, 81, 82, 86, 87, 92, 93, 94, 98, 01, 06, 08 ...
These are not mere numbers. These were the years which saw Mohun Bagan clinching the very special prestigious Federation Cup titles. Yes. As many as 13 times !! The Fed has perhaps become almost synonymous with Bagan. It's now time to make it happen yet again, for the 14th time. The crown of Indian football's 'the best' is rightfully ours.

Mariners are ready for the celebration. Again the city roads are going to get stoodstill as it happened on 1st June of last year. Today, at Guwahati, there will be many fans to shout for the green-and-brigade. Many more are arranging the giant-screen telecast in Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, Delhi, Mumbai and several parts of the country to make it grand. Sanjoy Sen, Sony Norde, Katsumi Yusa, Jeje Lalpekhlua, Debjit Majumder and others have done it before. They have won the I-league and our hearts and faith. It's time to repeat it once more.

Meanwhile, opponents Aizawl will be getting the service of foreign striker Joel Sunday. The ground conditions of the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium seem to be not pleasant due to heavy rain. However, the National Club of India has got the potential to fight against all odds and emerge victorious, and they will.

আর কয়েক ঘণ্টার অপেক্ষা। গঙ্গাপারের তাঁবুতে এই মরসুমে ট্রফি ঢুকবে কি না, তা কাল সন্ধ্যায় নির্ধারিত হবে ব্রহ্মপুত্রের পারে। কলকাতা সহ বাংলার বহু জেলা থেকে মোহনবাগান সমর্থকদের সমাগম হচ্ছে গুয়াহাটীতে ইতিহাসের সাক্ষী থাকতে। আর উত্তর-পূর্বাঞ্চলীয় সৌভাতৃত্বে ম্যাচটি যাতে বাগানের জন্যে একতরফা অ্যাওয়ে না হয়ে যায়, সেইদিকে আসামের অধিবাসী কতিপয় বাগানীরাও নজর দেবে।
গুয়াহাটীর দুর্দান্ত মাঠে, মনোরম আবহাওয়া্র মধ্যে ফিজিকাল, ট্যাক্টিকাল, টেকনিকাল সব ধরনের প্রস্তুতিই আজ সেরে রেখেছেন মোহনসারথী সঞ্জয় সেন এবং তাঁর সহ-কোচিং স্টাফরা। মেগাফাইনালে যেন কোনরকম ত্রুটি না থাকে, সে ব্যাপারে বদ্ধপরিকর সোনি-কাটসুমি-জেজেরাও। পুরো মোহনবাগান পরিবার এখন তাকিয়ে ওদের দিকে স্বপ্নকে আর একবার ছুঁয়ে দেখার উদ্দেশ্যে। ওরাই পারে এআইএফএফ, রেফারি সহ সব প্রতিপক্ষকে মৃত্যু-পরোয়ানা লিখে 'ভারতসেরা'র ন্যায্য শিরোপাটা ফিরিয়ে আনতে।

একপশলা বৃষ্টিতে ভ্যাপসা গরম থেকে কিঞ্চিত স্বস্তি। বহুকাঙ্খিত ভোটের ফল প্রকাশিত। এবার ভাবার সময় শুধুই আমাদের মোহনবাগান নিয়ে। আমরা জানি কালকের ম্যাচটা কতটা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ আর এই ফেডারেশন কাপটা জেতা কতটা জরুরী। তেরোর গেরো কাটিয়ে চোদ্দতম ফেডটা চাই। আর না হলে এই মরসুমটা ফের ট্রফিহীন থাকতে হবে সেই ২০১০-১৪ পাঁচটা মরসুমের মত।
প্রতিপক্ষ আইজল। নামে, ধারে, ভারে অবশ্যই মোহনবাগানের কাছে কিছুই না। বড় মঞ্চে লড়ার অভিজ্ঞতাও নেই। তারপর ওদের দলের প্রধান দুই খেলোয়াড় - সেন্ট্রাল মিডিও তথা অধিনায়ক ডেভিড এবং গোলের মধ্যে থাকা বিদেশী স্ট্রাইকার সানডে নেই। কিন্তু ওদের আছে পাহাড়ি উচ্ছলতা, জেদ, দুরন্ত গতি আর কিছু করে দেখানোর তাগিদ। আই-লিগ চাম্পিয়ন বেঙ্গালুরু এফসিকে ঘরে-বাইরে দাপটের সঙ্গে হারানো কিন্তু মুখের কথা নয়। তারপর দুর্ভেদ্য স্পোর্টিং গোয়ার রক্ষণকে গোল-গড়ে টেক্কা দেওয়াও তারিফজোগ্য। আইজলের ছেলেদের উদ্দম-ই সেই কঠিন কাজগুলো সহজে সাধ্ন করে আজ তাদের পৌঁছে দিয়েছে ফেড ফাইনালে। এআইএফএফের ভ্রান্ত এবং ফুটবল-বিরোধী নিয়মের করালগ্রাসে ওদের সদ্য অবনমন ঘটেছে আই-লিগ থেকে। তারই জবাব দেবার জন্য যেন ওরা বদ্ধপরিকর। আর তার সাথে তাদের কোচ জহর দাস যেন মোহনবাগানের সুখযাত্রায় 'বিভীষণ কাঁটা'। এই কাঁটাতেই বিদ্ধ হয়ে আই-লিগে প্রথম পরাজয় হয়েছিল দুর্দম বাগানের। বাগানের প্রাক্তন ফুটবলার, কোচ এবং সমর্থক ওই জহর নিশ্চয় সচেষ্ট হবেন আরো একবার তাঁর প্রিয় দলের মুখের গ্রাস কেড়ে নিতে। উনি পাশে পাবেন গুয়াহাটীতে উপস্থিত বিপুল উত্তরপূর্বাঞ্চলের দর্শকদের।
পক্ষান্তরে সবুজ-মেরুনেও রয়েছে আইজলের জন্য 'বিভীষণ কাঁটা'। মিজো তরুণ জেজে এই মরসুমে বাগান জার্সিতে নিজেকে অন্য মাত্রায় নিয়ে গেছেন। একের পর এক গোল কুড়িয়ে মোহনজনতার আস্থাভাজন হয়ে উঠেছেন, এখনো রয়েছেন ফেডের শীর্ষ গোলদাতা। কাল নিশ্চয় উনি আরো গোলের সন্ধানে থাকবেন ফেডে রেকর্ড গড়ার লক্ষ্যে। তবে জেজেকে গোলের রাস্তা করে দেওয়ার জন্য প্রধান ভরসা সেই হাইতির সোনি নর্দে। ১৬ নম্বর জার্সির ক্যারিস্মা প্রমাণ করার আরো একবার দায়িত্ব সোনির কাঁধে। তাঁর ওই বাঁ-প্রান্তিক বিষাক্ত দৌড় দিয়ে মাইনাস, ক্রস বা দূরপাল্লার শট, ফ্রিকিক বা কর্নারের দিকে তাকিয়ে থাকবে আসমুদ্র-হিমাচল মোহনবাগানী। মাঠের মধ্যে যেমন ভরসা সোনি, মাঠের বাইরে তেমনি কোচ সঞ্জয় সেন। এই ডাকাবুকো বাঙালি ভদ্রলোকের হাত ধরে গতবারই মোহনবাগানের শাপমুক্তি ঘটেছিল তেরো বছর পর আই-লিগ পেয়ে। এবার তেরোর গেরো কাটিয়ে ফেড দেবার জন্য প্রধান ভরসা সেই তিনিই। টিমগেম, টিম-স্পিরিট এই তত্ত্বগুলি ওনার হাত ধরেই ফিরে এসছে আমাদের স্বাদের বাগানে। আর তারই ভিত্তিতে বাগানেরও লড়াই এআইএফএফ ও রেফারিদের ভ্রস্টামির বিরুদ্ধে। দলবদলের খোঁচা, স্পনসর সমস্যা এসব থেকে দূরে রেখে সোনি-কাটসুমিদের ফোকাস ঠিক রেখে সেই লড়াইয়ে সফলকাম হওয়াই এখন মোহনসারথী সঞ্জয়ের মূল লক্ষ্য।

অগণিত সদস্য-সমর্থকের মত আমারও বিস্বাস সোনি-সঞ্জয় জুটি পারবে। পারবে টিম মোহনবাগান আমাদের স্বপ্নকে আবারো বাস্তব করতে।
